'Deal with climate issues now, as addressing the problem will only become more expensive'

Gov. Jerry Brown of California opened today’s session.

Long a leader on climate change and the overseer of the world’s 6th biggest economy, Gov. Brown stated that the work to address climate change, “can’t be done by one candidate, or party. It takes institutional, long-term commitment.“

Gov. Brown discussed the need for change a the city level, state level, national level and global level, and commended the Netherlands for making early and strong commitments to climate-smart issues such as electric vehicles. He explained that we must deal with climate issues now, as addressing the problem will only become more expensive.”
